Monday, 1 December 2014: PageGroup, a leading UK-listed global recruitment company, today announced the promotions of two senior executives in the Greater China region. Effective today, Sharmini Wainwright has been promoted to Managing Director, Michael Page and Page Personnel Hong Kong and Richard King as Senior Managing Director, Michael Page, North and East China. “Richard and Sharmini are industry veterans with well over 30 years PageGroup experience between them; I am confident they will continue their track records of building high performance offices in Greater China as we continue to expand in this region,” says Anthony Thompson, Regional Managing Director, PageGroup Greater China. “Over the past 20 years, we have built our business to over 450 professionals across the region and we are proud of our reputation for quality, specialism and expertise. These two individuals are an inspiration to our team and will lead them to deliver strategic counsel, in-depth insights, exceptional quality work and market leading expertise to our clients. Sharmini Wainwright has expanded her role and is now Managing Director for Michael Page and Page Personnel Hong Kong. Reporting directly to Andy Bentote, Senior Managing Director, Michael Page and Page Personnel, Hong Kong and Southern China, her remit will include managing a team of 140 people across three offices in Hong Kong. She will continue to strengthen the organization’s market leadership position in Hong Kong. She started with PageGroup approximately 12 years ago with the Australian business where she progressed to lead both the Finance and Financial Services practices. She moved to Hong Kong in 2012, and has driven multiple Michael Page disciplines and the Page Personnel business to greater heights, including a strong record year in 2014. As Senior Managing Director, Michael Page, North and East China, Richard King will continue to report directly to Anthony Thompson, Regional Managing Director of PageGroup Greater China. Having moved to China in 2013, Richard oversees a growing team of 200 people currently across four offices in Shanghai, Suzhou and Beijing. He has led the team to achieve a strong record year in 2014. He has progressively advanced with the group over the last 19 years, leading teams and delivering resounding successes across the group’s various business operations in multi-markets such as the United Kingdom, Australia and Japan where he was Managing Director. The group recently celebrated its 20th anniversary earlier this year for its Greater China operations.
