What prompted your move into recruiting?

I never thought I would work in recruitment but joined Michael Page as the company had a meritocratic set-up. The role also allowed me to build function expertise and interact with people.

What does a typical day look like for you?

I walk into the office every day ready to conquer new challenges and hurdles. A typical day would involve meeting client and candidates, deepening existing relationships and targeting new businesses, among others. Sometimes the day whizzes by before I know it.

Please share with us your leadership journey so far. Have you encountered any challenges as a woman in leadership?

While my leadership journey has just started, there will always be challenges. The biggest challenge I face is sourcing for recruitment consultants. Finding, hiring and motivating the right individuals can make a big difference in our business.

In general, you will grow in this organisation if you perform, regardless of whether you’re a man or woman.

What do you enjoy most about being a leader?

It feels great when you are able to help your team members grow and succeed in their work. That feeling of pride and excitement is more pronounced than when you experience your own success.
